This line is anonymous and free of charge. Parallel to these, KENTHEA, in the framework of its cooperation with the Centre, is responsible for the telephone line 1422 which operates daily from 9am to 7pm. The aim of the second pillar, for which responsible is the Cyprus National Addictions Authority and services are provide, is the free treatment services to addicted gamblers as well as the treatment of any consequent mental struggles the gamblers experience. Through the first pillar, the Gaming and Casino Supervision Commission aims to inform and raise awareness to the community about gaming and how this can be done responsibly so that gaming does not develop into a source of problems. The Nicosia Development Agency also has an important role in the management of this project due to the prospect for future expansion of specific services of the Centre in Nicosia, where the largest satellite casino in Cyprus is located. This space is provided by the Municipality in the context of its Social Responsibility and its cooperation with the Gaming and Casino Supervision Commission. The Centre is located at the Municipality of Agios Athanasios in Limassol, at a space carefully selected and designed in line with the needs of the services that the Centre offers. The services of the Centre are based on two pillars: a) Prevention and Information to be provided by the Gaming and Casino Supervision Commission and b) Support, Treatment and Counselling to be provided by the National Addictions Authority, through KENTHEA (which is the contractor selected for this specific purpose). This Centre is part of the mission of the Gaming and Casino Supervision Commission in an attempt to minimise the risks associated with gambling and to secure Responsible Gambling using the provided legislation. The purpose of the founding of this Centre is the cooperation of the relevant organisations to provide prevention and treatment to adults who may face negative consequences from their involvement in gambling. The Centre is an initiative of the Gaming and Casino Supervision Commission which is also the main sponsor.
